Presents Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is......FREE!

It sounds almost too simple to be true, but by reading regularly with your children during their preschool years, you are giving them the biggest boost toward a successful education they will ever get. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will help you read with your child. There are many reasons parents do not read to their child, but we can eliminate one of them. Every child will have books of their very own, at no cost to you, thanks to Mesabi East Early Childhood Coalition and Dolly Parton. Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child's name directly to your home. He/she can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library until he/she turns five years old as long as you remain a resident of Mesabi East School District ISD 2711.To enroll in this free program, you will need tocomplete an official registration form. Forms can be picked up and returned at the Elementary Office or the Community Education Office.

High School students are available to assistsenior citizens, children, people with disabilities, and local organizations.  We are here to help our community.  Call Kari Hunt, Community Service Activities Coordinator at 229-3321, ext. 262 to arrange for a volunteer to help you out.  A three-week advance request for volunteers is required.

The Literacy Project offers tutoring for adults who want to learn to read or to improve their basic skills.  Volunteer tutors are trained to work with adults in a variety of teaching methods.  Some tutors are trained to work with adults with learning disabilities.  All tutoring is free, confidential and one-on-one.  For more information call Anita at the Adult Learning Center 749-4352 or 1-800-662-5711, ext. 400.
