Alert Magazine Scholarship

Alert Magazine is awarding $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who write an winning 650-800 word essay on the topic “a personal encounter with someone you know has had with drug or alcohol abuse, how it was dealt with, what you have learned from it, and was it right or wrong on how it was handled (in your opinion.)  Go to www.alertmagazine.org or see Mr. Janssen for more information.

 

 American Veterans (AMVETS) Scholarships

This scholarship will be available beginning in January 2017 and is available to veterans, active duty, guard/reserves, and for graduating high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of the afore mentioned service members. Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association Scholarships

Application Deadline: May 27, 2017                               Amount $500 (2)

Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship Program

Application Deadline: June 1, 2017                       Amount: $1,000

This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who, intends to pursue an animation related field at an accredited post-secondary school or college, has a demonstrated record of academic success, and has the passion and drive for a career in an animation and/or design related field.  Apply at www.AnimationCareerReview.com. Aspiring Business Professional Scholarship

Application Deadline: June 1, 2017                                 Amount: $1,000

Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

Aspiring Pharmacist Scholarship Program

The Timothy L Correll Foundation Scholarships

Application Deadline: March 20, 2017                               Amount: $250-$1,000

To be considered for a TLCF Scholarship, student applicants must be a Minnesota resident and enrolled in an undergraduate program in an accredited College or University in one of these three programs: fire science, paramedics or nursing.  Complete scholarship information and an application can be found at http://tlcf-inc.org/scholarship-program.html.

Minnesota Women’s Golf Association

Senior girls that have an interest in golf, have a minimum GPA of 3.20, have a financial need, and have a good quality of character as reflected by community involvement and academic activities are invited to apply for this scholarship.  See Mr. Janssen for more information.

  

Model College of Hair Design Scholarship

Northeast Minnesota of Job Training Scholarships

Application Deadline: Variable                                Amount: up to $4,000

The Northeast Office of Job Training is providing an opportunity to train for a career by providing funds towards tuition in programs to teach you in-demand occupational skills.  The programs may be a one or two year program which leads to a degree or certificate.    Call 1-800-325-5332 for initial application information. Northland Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation Scholarship          

Application Deadline: May 10, 2017            Amount Minimum $700 (3 or more)

The Northland Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation is offering 8 scholarships for students in the northland.  Applicants for this scholarship need to be a relative of a “Vietnam era Veteran” (January 1959 - Dec 31, 1975), be willing to willing to interview a Vietnam Veteran, and write an essay (500 words or less) entitled:  “Research the use of the defoliant Agent Orange in Vietnam and after a discussion with a Vietnam Veteran, write of the Pros and Cons of its usage as seen today.” Write a 500 word essay based on your findings.  See Mr. Janssen for an application.

 SFM Foundation Scholarship

Application: Deadline: March 31, 2016                  Amount: $1,000 - $5,000

This scholarship is open to graduating seniors who are intending to pursue an AA, vocational certificate, or bachelor’s degree from a Minnesota or Wisconsin post secondary institution, and have a family that has been adversely affected by the injury or death of a parent (while on the job). The Abbot and Fenner $1,000 Scholarship is available for Juniors, Seniors and Students who are currently registered in a post secondary institution.  Applicants must write an essay on the topic: Describe your educational career and life goals.  Explain your plan for achieving these goals.  Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.  Juniors are encouraged to apply for the Positive Coaching Alliance Scholarships ($1,00-$2,00). The PCA awards scholarships to high school athletes based on their essays explaining how they meet the standard defined in Elevating Your Game: Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor by PCA Founder Jim Thompson: Personal Mastery: Making oneself better, Leadership: Making one’s teammates better, and Honoring the game: Making the game better.   Apply by May 31, 2017.
